Advantages of AAC Blocks

ABOUT AAC BLOCK

AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) was invented in the mid -1920 by the Swedish architect and inventor Jahan Axel Eriksson. AAC is one of the major achievements of the 20th Century in the field of construction. It is a lightweight, precast building material that simultaneously provides structure, insulation, and fire and sound resistance. AAC Block is a unique and excellent type of building material due to its superb heat, fire and sound resistance. AAC blocks are light weight and offers ultimate workability, flexibility and durability.

Aluminium powder along with fly ash, cement, lime and gypsum is mixed in high speed and Automatic batch mixer resulting in AAC slurry, which is poured into mould. Reaction of aluminium with lime, water, silica releases hydrogen gas (H2) when escapes from slurry, it rises to give porous structured to calcium silica Hydrate (C-S-H, concrete). This risen cake is cut into blocks of require sizes by wire cutting machine, which are again steam cured under high temperature 210° C and pressure 12 kg. in autoclave for 10 to 12 hours. AAC is a long proven material. AAC blocks are used in a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential application and has been in use in Europe over 90 years, the Middle East for the past 40 Years and in America and Australia for 25 years. It's an estimate that AAC now account for over 40% of all construction in UK and more than 60% of construction in Germany. In India production of AAC blocks started in 1972.

ADVANTAGES OF JAI BHAVANIS AAC BLOCKS

  • NO DAMPNESS

    Clay bricks absorbs the water but JAI BHAVANIS blocks have 80% air and 20% solid material. No capillary action. Blocks do not absorb water, hence no dampness to the wall.

    JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks have good thermal insulation property of Rating 30. So these blocks are not affected by outer climate (hot/cold) on walls. This saves electricity cost of A.C.

  • FIRE RESISTANT

    JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks falling into fire rating of 4 hours which makes it good fire resistance wall material.

HOW JAI BHAVANIS AAC BLOCKS SAVE THE COST OF BUILDERS AND DEVELOPERS.

INCREASE IN CARPET AREA

Wall made by JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks has accurate size and shape, less number of joints and thickness. Hence it saves 15 to 20 mm space of plaster throughout length of every wall of room. So increase in carpet area by 1.5 to 3%.It also has more compressive strength than clay bricks and does not absorb the water so no need to plaster the wall from inside by sand and cement.

SAVE STEEL & CONCRETE

JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks save steel, concrete, sand, internal plaster, curing and reduce the thickness of external plaster. It is 3 times lighter than clay bricks, hence it saves steel and concrete in high rise building. It does not allow water to pass into the wall, so internal sand cement plaster is not necessary, only POP plaster is enough, JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks are made from Hi-tech modern machinery so its size variation is only ± 2mm hence it reduces the thickness of external plaster.

SAVE SAND AND WATER

JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks require only 3mm joint for using readymade joint adhesive. So it saves costly sand, JAI BHAVANIS blocks already have high pressure steam curing. So there is no need of curing. Thus it saves water and curing labour cost etc.

SAVE TIME

JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks are light weight (3 times) and 5 to 6 times bigger in size than clay bricks. So it reduces the number of joints and its thickness and ultimately saves time as compare to clay bricks.

SAVE AGRICULTURAL LAND

JAI BHAVANIS AAC block use 70% of fly ash, wastage generates from thermal power plant. It does not require clay so no damage of agricultural land.

SAVE ENVIRONMENT

Fly ash is wastage from thermal power plant. When it mixes with environment increases pollution. Because of its use in AAC blocks it helps to reduce the pollution.

SAVE FUEL ON TRANSPORTATION

JAI BHAVANIS AAC blocks are 3 times lighter than clay bricks, so more number of blocks are transported in same vehicle, which saves fuel for transportation compared to clay bricks.
